Royal Friday

My obligatory comment on the royal wedding:

Pippa Middleton looked amazing.  Gorgeous McQueen dress, flawlessly cut.  To all my white girls out there: take a cue from Pippa and get a fake'n'bake or spray tan before you wear white/eggshell/nude/or anything extremely pale.

Anyways, BACK TO ME:
just hangin out by the thermostat....no big deal

Wide-Leg Weekend

Its official: Im obsessed with wide-leg, high-waisted flares.  I picked up an adorable, comfy, & reasonably priced pair from The Gap.....not normally a store I shop at, but Im glad i ventured in & found these babies.  I rocked them all weekend long, they easily transition from casual to dressy:

LOOK #1: City Chic

fur vest: Burberry
blouse: Ebay from Korea
jeans: The Gap
aviators: Roots
clogs: Aldo
watch: Guess
purse: Simons

LOOK #2: Red-Lipped Glam

blazer: Costa Blanca
blouse: H&M
jeans: The Gap
watch: Guess
ring: H&M
purse: Simons
clogs: Forever 21 (these are soo adorbs but I forgot to take a close-up.....SOWEE!)

The ONLY downfall to these jeans (& wide-leg trousers in general) is that you MUST wear a shoe that gives you height.  In my opinion, flats aren't really an option with a wide-leg; you risk looking short and dumpy.......
Unless youre Chanel Iman, of course.  Honestly, does that beautiful bitch ever NOT look flawless.  HATE slash LOVE her.

Good Flare Day

After wearing skinny jeans/cigarette pants/leggings/jeggings almost exclusively for several years now, the wide leg/flare silhouette is a much needed breathe of fresh air.  Its nice to feel the blood in my legs circulate for a change.

I was checking out The Evil Centre last night, and Ive come to this conclusion: Theres no need to drop $300 on a pair of True Religions or J-Brands anymore (unless of course if you have that kind of disposable income, in which case god bless you slash I hate you.)  Ive seen some GORGEOUS pairs of wide-leg trousers at H&M (mine were only $40!!), The Gap, Guess, and Im sure Garage & Costa Blanca will soon follow.....THEY ALWAYS DO.  I personally REFUSE to spend too much money on a trend that Im loving now, but may potentially repulse me next season.  Please see Manolo Blahnik Timberlands for reference.

2 Girls 1 Top

I LOVE multifunctional clothing.  I found this little ditty from H&M and the possibilities of ways to wear it are endless.....

LOOK #1:
blouse: H&M
dress: Urban Outfitters
tights: Pacific Mall
boots: Urban Outfitters
watch: Fossil

LOOK #2:

blouse: H&M
pants: American Apparel
boots: Miss Sixty
watch: Guess
necklace: Ardene

...the fact that it was only $40 makes it even more delicious.

Of course/Unfortunalty, not every piece of clothing we buy can be such a steal.  Heres how to figure out if something is truly worth purchasing.  Commit this shit to memory:

FierceWithAHighWaist's Fashion E-Clothes-Sion:

PRICE / COMFORT NUMBER = TOTAL USE GOAL

PRICE: Determine the price of your item.

COMFORT NUMBER: Your "Comfort Number" is a dollar amount you feel comfotable spending on clothing/shoes/accessories on a daily/regular basis.  Your number will depend on how important fashion/shopping is to you, combined with your budget/income & lifestyle.  Everyones number will be different based on these factors.  My "comfort Number" is $10 - even tho I am obsessed with shopping & fashion, Imma cheap bitch so that number works for me.

TOTAL USE GOAL: the number of times you willl need to wear your purchase to make it worthwhile.

Heres an example of the Fashion E-Clothes-Sion for the H&M blouse Im wearing in the above photos:

ITEM COST: $40.00
COMFORT NUMBER: $10.00
ITEM COST / COMFORT NUMBER = TOTAL USE GOAL
therefore, TOTAL USE GOAL = 4
This means ideally I will have to wear this blouse 4 times for it to be a worthwhile purchase in my books.

If I want to indulge in something a bit more expensive, like lets say a pair of J-Brand wide-leg flares, the Fashion E-Clothes-Sion would work like this:

ITEM COST: $300
COMFORT NUMBER: $10
TOTAL USE GOAL: 30
Meaning ideally, I will have to wear my new jeans 30 times for them to be worth the money spent.  Thats A LOT of wide-leg.

Im pretty much the Einstein of fashion.  E=MC HIGH-WAIST.

Turban Behaviour

Im completely obsessed with my new headband.  Its the perfect solution for lazy, rainy-day hair.  My look today is very Ali Magraw meets Sheikah Mozah.

sidenote: if you dont know who either one of these women are, do yourself a favour and google image search them ASAP.

If I could one day possess the style, elegance, and rogue fashion sense of Sheikah Mozah bint Nasser Al Missned, I would die a happy woman.  If theres one thing I learned in my travels to the Middle East, its that behind closed doors those Arabic bitches are FIERCE.  Just when you think youre bringing your fashion A-game, they swoop in on their husband's G6 and shut you down hard.  No matter how luxe & decadent we westerners think we are, we are no match for the Middle East.  They are the definition of OPULENCE.
